This project was conceptualised as a cross-discipline submission for the D&AD Awards, aiming to normalise conversations around female pleasure and self-discovery. The Make It Purr campaign cleverly used the metaphor of cats as female anatomy and purring as climaxing, creating a lighthearted and approachable way to tackle this sensitive topic. Drawing parallels to caring for a pet, the campaign encouraged Teen Vogue readers to explore and understand their own “kitties” with confidence and curiosity.
The game is a playful and engaging way to educate users about individuality and exploration, using cats as metaphors for personal anatomy. The game begins with a randomly generated cat, each with unique needs for how, where, and with what it prefers to be petted. Users navigate trial and error to discover what makes their “kitty” purr, emphasising that every “kitty” is different and requires personalised care. The flow integrates success and failure feedback, reinforcing learning through playful interaction. Players are encouraged to share results via social media, linking back to the quiz, forum, and campaign.
The Make It Purr online quiz is designed to guide users in exploring their bodies and preferences in a fun, approachable way. Using lighthearted questions, it offers tailored advice and actionable tips for self-care and exploration. Results are paired with shareable cat characters, making the content engaging and relatable. The quiz serves as an entry point to the broader campaign, directing users to the forum and fostering curiosity and confidence.
The online forum creates a safe and inclusive digital space for open discussions about self-exploration and care. Users can share experiences, ask questions, and exchange advice with peers and professionals in an empathetic environment. Moderated to ensure respectful conversations, the forum is a key component in breaking taboos and fostering a supportive community. It complements the quiz and game, building deeper connections and encouraging ongoing engagement with the campaign.
